Audi A5 Sportback Verdict
Blending the performance of A5 Coupe with a good arrangement for seating and practicability results in Audi A5 Sportback. The 2-rear doors for rear passengers are added in order to gain a practicability in the A5 Coupe. The Sportback model is 86mm more in length and 19mm more in height. This results in comfortable legroom and headroom both for front and rear passengers. The rear legroom in the Coupe model was a little cramp which gets rectified in the Sportback model.
As the overall increase in length of A5 Sportback also results in increase in weight, the 1.8 TFSI engine option is been deducted, whereas a 2.0 TDI engine is added which produces a power of 143ps. Also the trim levels are reduced to 3; Standard, SE and S line, so there is no special black edition here. The upholstery and features are all same as that of A5 Coupe series.
At the end, we can consider the A5 Sportback as a good family car which is practical and comfortable. The on road performance of Sportback is a bit sluggish when compared to the A5 Coupe as the length and weight both have a serious impact on the car’s performance. Audi A4 saloon can be best compared to the A5 Sportback as both have many common features except the built forms. Sportback is streamlined in a Coupe form with low roof and ending in a hatch like form with little overhangs in the engine positions whereas A4 Saloon is a simple sedan that is made to be a sedan.
