Audi in September Frankfurt 2011
Frankfurt, historically known as the “ford of the Franks” is the one of the largest cities in Europe and also the financial center of Germany. This magnificent city hosts a number of large trade fairs, among which the most notable is the Internationale Automobil-Ausstellung, also known as the Frankfurt Motor Show which is the largest automobile show in the world.
Frankfurt Automobile show is held on a biennial basis. Frankfurt Motor Show attracts car manufacturers and auto enthusiasts from around the world but as you can guess, Frankfurt Motor Show is largely dominated by the German car makers such as BMW, Audi and Mercedes-Benz. Frankfurt Motor Show for the year 2011 is scheduled to be held from 15th September 2011 to 25th September 2011.
Just like its competitors, Audi will also be using Frankfurt Auto Show as a great opportunity to showcase its new releases to the whole world. This competition is not only in the form of new cars. Audi had recently announced that it will be spending more than 10 million euros at Frankfurt Motor Show just to build an indoor test track. This indoor track will have some really cool innovative features that are aimed at competing with the rivals.
Audi’s CEO Rupert Stadler has announced recently, “We will make a strong statement; it will be surprising, emotional, architecturally great and with a real wow factor.” Audi is putting across a strong statement even by bringing around 30 models to the Frankfurt Motor Show this year.
Out of all the models that Audi is planning to unveil, the most talked about and most awaited of them all are:
2012 Audi A8 Hybrid: This is a 245 horsepower gasoline electric hybrid version of Audi’s magnificent A8 sedan. It can either run on the gas engine or on the electric motor or both. When it comes to fuel economy, it does not disappoint with the average of 37 mpg. It comes with electric motor and gas cylinder. It can sprint from 0 to 60 seconds in just a matter of 7.7 seconds which is a respectable number in the particular car segment. The combined power generated by Audi A8 Hybrid 2012 is even stronger.
Audi R8 GT Spyder: Audi plans to unveil Audi R8 GT Spyder officially at the Frankfurt Auto Show 2011. It is said to have a powerful 5.2 L V10 that can crank up 553 horsepower. This drop top is supposed to have great sprinting capabilities as it can go from zero to 60 mph in just a matter of 3.8 seconds. Even its top speed is 193 mph.
Audi Urban Concept: Audi is also going to launch an ultra lightweight electric car in the form of The Urban Concept. This two seat car has innovative and unique designs, though it is said to be inspired by the popular Bubble Car.
Apart from the launch of these three models, Audi is going to bring to the stage a number of other cars to this year’s Frankfurt Motor Show.
