A Brief on Audi A4 History
Audi is the forerunner when it comes to those German cars that are eye candy as well as cranks out loads of power as well. Not only this, Audi cars are known for the beautiful amalgamation of luxury, style, performance and features. For decades Audi has made its mark in the automobile industry and is considered to be one of the undisputed leaders. Since its inception by the end of 18th century, Audi has never looked back except for a couple of minor hiccups. Today the whole lineup that Audi has laid down over time is known for premium automobiles from small cars to crossover SUVs.

One of the marvels that the German car maker Audi has produced is the Audi A4. Audi A4 is one of the most successful models ever to be launched by Audi AG. Audi A4 was first rolled out in the year of 1994. It was supposed to replace the erstwhile Audi 80. Although the car came with an option to have an all wheel drive however the first ever model year had something unique with its longitudinal engine orientation which was coupled with the front wheel drive. This is a compact executive car that is a leader in this particular segment and is one of the most successful examples of a modern executive car. When it first launched, it was powered by a number of engine options ranging right from a four cylinder engine to a 6 cylinder version.
Over the period of time the change becomes inevitable. This happened with Audi A4 as well. The car saw a number of changes in its built. Fortunately for the German car maker, the changes were for good. The first major update was seen by the compact executive car in the year 1997. The new engine has more valves in the cylinder and also had an increased power capacity. At the same time, the exteriors and interiors had also seen a number of changes for good.
Moving on Audi made a number of changes to the existing car and rolled out B6. This happened in the year 2002. Keeping the convention alive, Audi increased the power and engine options were also changed. High powered engines were coming into the picture. B6 was successful in marking the second generation of the Audi A4 to be the one which was highly liked by the car lovers.
The third generation of the Audi A4 was marked by the release of the B7 car. The highest power bearer was the 3.0 TDI engine with Quattro drive as an option. Some all new state of the art technology were used which made the new car B7 to be one of the most sought after cars on the planet.
The likes of BMW and Mercedes did launch their respective models to rival the Audi A4. But the German car maker Audi did give the rivals a tough time and a good run for their money.
