2013 Audi RS4 Avant Review
With more and more innovation, Audi is speeding up the processes to include more and more options in every series. After doing the makeover of whole A4 series, the Audi is all set to include a new member, 2013 Audi RS4 Avant. The series now has the A4 Saloon, A4 Avant, A4 Allroad, all the S variations and now the RS4 Avant too. We can expect some more to come but assume them as surprises. It was said that the A4 Allroad will replace the Avant, but till now this has not been done and may be to complete the family of A4, this wouldn’t be done in the future too.
At the heart of 2013 Audi RS4 Avant sits the 4.2L FSI engine churning out a max power of 450ps with max torque of 430Nm at a range of 4000-6000rpm. This has been made possible by mating new high-revving concept with that of FSI petrol direct injection technology. The engine connects with a 7-speed S Tronic transmission ensuring virtually continuous power-flow for no interruption while driving. The engine acoustics are even tuned to impress the roads. QUATTRO comes as standard in the RS4 Avant. By default, it sends 60% of power to rear axle and 40% to front while it can be varied according to road conditions and 80% of power can be sent to rear axle and 60% to front ensuring a very safe drive. The top speed is limited to 155 mph but it can be tweaked for 174mph with a few changes.
About the interiors, Audi has never compromised. Although, the interior details are not revealed till yet but expect them to be a distinction from the whole A4 series as this model has the racing gene and so it requires a different makeover.
The exterior styling is also poised with distinct eyes including matt-aluminium look side mirrors, single frame front grille, oval tail pipes, varied bumpers and awesome alloys. The bigger air intakes at front give the new RS4 Avant a bold look whereas most of the other things are kept same as the A4 Avant. The ride height is lowered to 0.8 inches to glue it more to the road.
The pricing details for 2013 Audi RS4 Avant have not been revealed till yet and also the model would not be available in the US this year atleast. Expect the car to be launched in summers this year.
