Audi Again Dominates the Le Mans 24 hours

Following the Eleventh success at the Le Mans 24 Hours, Audi has triumphed the two tops spots and is the first victory ever by a hybrid vehicle, Audi R18 E-tron Quattro. It is a very big celebration without any doubts by the brand. Around 2,00,000 of audience witnessed this historical Le Mans 24 hours. Audi participated in the race as Audi Sport Team Joest with four Audi R18 e-tron cars which slotted the first, second, third and fifth positions at the end. The vehicles acted as the most reliable and quickest among all and made a milestone by slotting the top positions.

“By achieving this further success at the world’s most important endurance race our engineers demonstrated their high technological expertise in a particularly impressive way,” commented Rupert Stadler, Chairman of the Board of Management of AUDI AG who personally witnessed the event.

The R18 E-tron cars were equipped with V6 TDI engines mated with a VTG mono turbocharger which was used for the first time in Le Mans and it proved to be a success. The ultra-light transmission and the ultra lightweight design were the key factors by Audi in the design of these cars. However, two of the cars had accidents simultaneously, but the combined efforts by the team Joest allowed them to recover.

This is a very great day ever in Audi history and 2012 is going to be one of the best years for the brand.
