Audi gets ready for A6 3.0 TDI Biturbo
Audi Australia has begun heavily discounting their existing models of the A6 range in preparation for the launch of the new Audi A6 3.0 TDI Biturbo model. In anticipation of this new arrival, prices have been pared back across the entire Audi A6 range.
Starting with the outgoing Audi A6 3.0 TDI, this boasts the biggest price drop with a whopping $9000 dollar reduction to $107,500. A tempting proposition, as for this money the buyer is essentially getting a machine with 580Nm of torque, 0-100km/h in 6.1 seconds and yet still capable of an impressively low 5.9 litres per 100km.
Next to take the plunge is the Audi A6 3.0 TFSI, down by $7000 to $114,000. With the smooth V6 petrol engine boasting direct injection as well as supercharging, this model edges the 0-100km/h of the TDI at 5.5sec. Of course, it cannot compete on fuel economy, but this is still a very respectable 8.2L/100km.
The mid-range 2.8 FSI also joins the party, with a drop of $2400 to $91,000. There is no change in the specification to go along with this new price, so the rear-view camera is still a feature as standard.
The already high specification of the machines can easily be further boosted by using the comprehensive options list. Raising the gadget count on the 2.8 FSI and 3.0 TDI models is simplicity itself. Opting for the $4950 Technik package will see the car bristling with extra technology, including a 360 degree top-view camera, LED headlights which have assisted high-beam, multi-zone climate control and a glass panel electric sunroof.
The new Audi A6 3.0 TDI Biturbo model looks set for a launch price of around the $130,000 mark. Some of those holding out for the new Biturbo may well find themselves wavering slightly when they see these new price stickers appearing in the showrooms. With full details on the pricing and specs to be revealed in the coming weeks, the developments on this model have got Audi enthusiasts gripped.
