Audi 2014 SQ5 – The Next Creation
Making its international debut in Detroit, the new 2014 Audi SQ5 is a gasoline-powered alternative to the existing SQ5 TDI turbo diesel model currently sold only in various European markets. While sharing many of the key visual cues and mechanical enhancements with its oil-burning alter ego, this new U.S.-bound variant – the first SQ5 to be fitted with a gasoline engine – was specifically tailored to appeal to buyers in North America, South America, South Africa, China, Japan and several other Asian countries.
This time in place of the 3.0-liter TDI V6 that makes 313-horsepower and 479 lb-ft of peak torque, Audi’s latest high-performance crossover SUV gets its motivation from the automaker’s supercharged 3.0-liter TFSI V6 that churns out 354 horses and 347 lb-ft of torque in this installation and is backed by an 8-speed Tip-tronic automatic transmission with dual program modes and steering-wheel-mounted shifter paddles. 2014 Audi S3 vs 2014 Mercedes CLA 45 AMG
The Mercedes CLA 45 AMG is an impressive machine. It features one of the most powerful 2.0L Turbocharged production engines ever. The Audi S3, is powered by a 2.0T pumping out 296HP and 280 lb-ft of torque. While that might seem low in comparison, this 2.0T is no slouch when you look at the actually performance numbers. So which on is better? Let’s take a look.
Horsepower numbers were stated above, but from an actual street perspective, the Mercedes CLA 45 AMG goes from 0-60 in 4.5 seconds and powered by a 7 speed transmission with paddle shifters. The Audi 2012 TTS is one of those luxury cars that will give you a smooth drive with an excellent steering control. The Audi 2012 TTS’ well-rounded driving dynamics, good fuel economy and decent cargo space make it a top choice if you plan to commute to work rather than run laps at the track.
The Audi 2012 TTS has a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder turbocharged engine that produces 265 Horse Power (hp) and 258 lb-ft of torque which results in the car accelerating to 60 mph within 4.9 seconds time limit from a rest position. The luxury car had a superb stream line shape design with an all-wheel drive More >
First Diesel Engine in S Class: 2013 Audi SQ5
In abnormal Audi fashion, Audi has made the all-new SQ5 (or the S version of the Q5) a diesel model. While this might seem odd on paper, there is smart logic present here. For starters, SUV’s have a harder time with gasoline engines because of the higher weight. Most SUV’s weigh 500 pounds more than their car counterparts. The Audi SQ5 still has power where it counts as well. For starters, the Audi Q5 is powered by an 309HP 3.0L Twin-turbo diesel which delivers an astounding 479 lb-ft of torque. Another issues that SUV’s have faced is that the pickup power, or passing power takes longer than a traditional car due to the extra weight.
This is where torque kicks in, and makes the vehicle a real rocket when passing others. The 2013 Audi SQ5 is mated to Audi’s famous 8 speed automatic transmission. In performance, the More >
